Bicyclist Suffers a Broken Leg in Accident on Arsenal Street in Watertown
The Cambridge woman reportedly got her handlebar tangled with a car's mirror, sending her flying.
A 25-year-old Cambridge woman suffered a serious broken leg Friday morning at around 9 a.m. when she reportedly got her bicycle's handlebar tangled with the mirror of a car.
The woman flew over her bicycle and broke her right lower leg, said Watertown Deputy Fire Chief Rob Iannett.
"She had a compound fracture of her leg - the bone was almost poking through the skin," Iannetta said. "She was alert and never lost consciousness."
Paramedics took her to Beth Israel Hospital to be treated, Iannetta said.
She was riding across the bridge on Arsenal Street between Brighton and Watertown.
