Celtics Players Pay a Visit to Perkins School in Watertown

Perkins students got the chance to interview NBA players today when three members of the Celtics stopped by.

Perkins School for the Blind had some big men on campus today when three members of the Boston Celtics paid a visit to the Lower School.

Several students got to question forward Brandon Bass, guard Avery Bradley and center Greg Stiemsma when the NBA players came to the gym at Perkins' Lower School this morning.

The students wanted to know what kind of music they listen to before the game. Bass said he enjoys hip hop while Bradley said he does not typically listen to music, but when he does it is hip hop. Stiemsma said he listens to music.

"I listen to the same the hip hop these guys do before the game because their headphones are so loud," Stiemsma said. "I also listen to country music ... and rock and roll - Disturbed and Korn."

The students also wondered about their most memorable moments during their NBA career. Bass said he could not point to one particular moment, and Stiemsma said it was when Head Coach Doc Rivers told him he had made the team after the end of training camp. Bradley remembers the day he was selected in the draft.

"I was so excited to be picked by the Boston Celtics and I remember seeing my mom's face," Avery said.

Who is the funniest member of the Celtics? The three agreed it was either Keyon Dooling or Mickael Pietrus.

Another student wondered what it was like to play with Kevin Garnett. Bass said he learns a lot from the veteran player.

"All the young guys learn a lot from him," Bass said. "I enjoyed the experience playing with him."
