Five Things You Need to Know Today: June 1

Budget and Fiscal Oversight Commission and Conservation Commission meet and a book group at the library.

 
  1. The Town Council's Budget & Fiscal Oversight Committee meets tonight at 7 p.m. in Town Hall. They will meet in the Richard E. Mastrangelo Council Chamber.
  2. The Conservation Commission meets tonight at 7:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Lower Hearing Room.
  3. The Watertown Free Public Library hosts a book discussion group tonight at 7 p.m.   Copies of book titles are available at the main circulation desk two weeks prior to discussion.
  4. Seniors looking to keep active can go to the Watertown Senior Center for the "It's Never Too Late to Get Moving" class. The program includes muscle strengthening, light stretching,  and low impact aerobics, and is focused on the needs of seniors in a fun and safe environment. The class runs from 11 a.m. to noon, and costs $3 per class.
  5. Watertown Citizens for Environmental Safety holds a meeting of the Peace and Justice Task Force tonight at St. John's Methodist Church at 7 p.m. Agenda items include update on showing of "Inside Job", next steps in Fund Our Community Campaign, Monthly Vigil, and more.
