Five Things You Need to Know Today: May 22

Town Council discusses the budget, Greater Boston Intergenerational Chorus concert and toddler story time.

 
  1. The Town Council meets tonight, and will discuss a proposal to borrow $540,000 for road and sewer work. Following the meeting, the Town Council will have a Fiscal 2013 budget hearing which includes the Department of Public works and the Water/Sewer Enterprise Fund budgets.
  2. The Greater Boston Intergenerational Chorus brings its mix of music, from jazz to contemporary folk to African and much more to the First Parish Church tonight for its spring concert.
  3. Stellina Restaurant hosts local jazz musicians tonight. There is no cover charge, and no reservations are needed.
  4. The Watertown Free Public Library has not one, but two Toddler Story Times this morning. Children ages 1 and 2 are invited to the library for stories, songs, and playtime.
  5. The Senior Center's "Watch our Weight" group meets weekly for support and to socialize. Individuals may weigh in, exercise, and discuss nutrition with long-time volunteer Evelyn Casey.
