Man Faces Kidnapping Charge After Pushing Girlfriend Out of Car, Leaving with Her Child

The 38 year old from Brooklyn allegedly pushed his girlfriend out of the car and left with her 3-year-old child in the back.

A domestic dispute turned into a kidnapping when a man pushed his girlfriend out of a car on Main Street and took off with her child in the vehicle.

Police received a call about a possible domestic dispute on March 2 at 7:23 p.m., said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn.

"The caller stated a woman was pushed out of a vehicle and the vehicle fled the area," Lawn said.

An officer found the victim.

"She was crying and stated her boyfriend assaulted her and took off in her car with her 3-year-old child in the vehicle," Lawn said.

A short time later, police located the car and arrested the boyfriend, Lawn said.

Michael H. Torres, 38, of 6488 Leonard St. Apt. R in Brooklyn, N.Y., was arrested on charges of assault and battery, larceny of a motor vehicle, kidnapping and violating an abuse prevention order, Lawn said.
