This week, the superintendent search really gets rolling as the School Committeee discusses the search tonight its meeting (7 p.m. in Town Hall) and Thursday when parents can give their input on the next head of schools at a public forum.

The Watertown Public Schools faced a tough budget last year and will likely face another tough one this year.

Watertown is one of about 35 districts looking for a new superintendent, said Glen Koocher, executive director of the Massachusetts Association of School Committees and the district's search consultant.

Koocher will lead the next public forum Thursday at 7 p.m. at Watertown Middle School. Parents can also fill out surveys online.
