The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the Boston area that includes Watertown. Snow would begin Wednesday, mostly after 2 p.m., with less than half an inch of accumulation. Light snow would continue Wednesday night through noon Thursday before switching to rain. Accumulation overnight could be 1 to 3 inches. A bit more snow could then fall Thursday night.

Heavier snow is expected to the north and west of Boston.

It's been a nearly snow-free winter, except for a big storm in October and a few inches in January.
