Sports Authority Opening Soon in Watertown's Arsenal Mall

The sporting goods store will open in the mall in the space formerly occupied by Filene's Basement.

 

Watertown's newest sporting good store will open its doors on May 12, and the Sporting Authority will have prize give-aways during the grand opening event.

The 30,000-square-foot store will feature a full line of sports equipment, shoes and clothing. Sports Authority will open in the Arsenal Mall and will go into the space formerly occupied by Filene's Basement. 

Shoppers on the opening day will have the chance to win hundreds of dollars in cash prizes. The first 250 guests will receive “Mystery Bucks” ranging from $5 to $500 in value, and all day the store will hold hourly $100 cash drawings, according to a release from Sports Authority. Finally, one grand prize winner receiving a $1,000 Sports Authority shopping spree.

Regular store hours will be Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday, noon to 6 p.m.

The store will be the 13th Sports Authority in Massachusetts, and will employee 50 to 60 staff.
