Town Council Clarifies Watertown Parking Meter Hours
Council is requesting the parking meters will be labeled so hours are up to date.
Figuring out the hours that parking meters around Watertown are enforced can be difficult with some unreadable and others showing incorrect hours, so the Town Council has requested that new labels be made and installed on the meters.
The Council's Public Works Committee made the recommendation at its Feb. 7 meeting, and the full Town Council voted Tuesday night to request that Town Manager Michael Driscoll get the new labels.

Looking back at the parking bylaws, the town has two different sets of parking meter hours, said Councilor Cecilia Lenk, chairwoman of the Public Works Committee.
One set applies to meters on the street, which run from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., except for Sundays and holidays. The second apply to meters in municipal parking lots, which operate from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., except on Sundays and holidays.
