The Charles is a beautiful sight and to see so many people happy makes it even better. I took a cruise out today. If only people would learn that the waterway is not a trash bin.

I saw today many functions along the Charles headiing out. I stopped at two or three of them and the people were so friendly and the area's looked so clean. Congrats go out to those that were putting on the functions. Someone should speak to the Charles River sight seeing tour boat and tell them that they do not own the Charles.

Congrats go out to the clean up crew that I see on the River every time I go out for their efforts to keep the River clean.

Everyone in these photos look so happy. Its a pleasure to see so many people using the Charles in one way or another. Now if only we could somehow figure out a way to clean the water. Can anyone tell me why the Cafe on the Esplanade is closed? Or at least it was yesterday.

Going out in the Charles again Sunday morning. Will be enjoying the hopefully beautiful day with my son and some friends to try and catch some fish. Not having much luck lately.

Last week I left the ramp at 10am to head out to Georges Island. On the way up the river I saww a boat toss a huge bag of trash over the side. The person I was with yelled at them. Would you believe that they actually turned their boat around and picked up the trash On the way back from Georges Island I got stopped by the Coast Guard. When the two rafts pulled up on either side of me the men on the bow cocked their shotguns and aimed them right at us. I was far away from the runway but they said that the harbor was on high alert. When I aasked why they just sort of looked over at the runway. It was then that I saw the reason. There was a plane on the ramp with about 20 or so state troopers arouond it. On the side of the plane was the words United States of America. The pres or VP was in town. I had a stroke over a year ago and a small one about two weeks ago. They almost gave me another one. But all in all it was a fun day and brought back memories. But it did make me proud to be an American and a Veteran. Thanks to all who protect us and our country.

I feel great knowing that I am going out in my boat this weekend probably the last time before the cold sets in. But I am sure that there are more people that should be making commenets about the Charles besides me. I enjoy my morning vists to the Charles just sitting on the docks and watching people launce their boats. Its so peaceful
