Waltham Woman Allegedly Tried to Steal Merchandise from Stop & Shop
Woman tried to take more than $500 worth of merchandise from the Pleasant Street supermarket.
A Waltham woman faces larceny charges after security at Stop & Shop spotted a her placing a number of items in a bag and try to leave the store without paying.
Jessica Cesar allegedly took items worth a total of $534.98 into a bag at the Pleasant Street location of Stop & Shop, and when she tried to leave store security stopped her, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn.
"When they confronted her she ran," Lawn said.
Police arrived and found Cesar near the entrance to the parking lot, Lawn said.
Jessica M. Cesar, 25, of 11 Gardner St. Apt. 3 in Waltham, faces a charge of larceny of over $250, Lawn said.

Stop & Shop is so expensive $500 worth of groceries could probably fit in a small backpack.
