Watertown Police: Stay in Your Homes, Roads Closed to Traffic
All town buildings, programs closed Friday as police search for the second suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings.
The town of Watertown has been shut down so police can continue the search for the second Boston Marathon bomber, which started in the early hours of Friday morning.
Police have asked all residents to "shelter in place" and stay in their home for their safety, and to aid the search, which has predominantly focused on East Watertown. Surrounding towns, including Newton, Belmont, Waltham, Cambridge and Allston/Brighton, have also been shut down.

They also warn not to let anyone into your home unless they are a uniformed police officer.
Watertown Town Manager Michael Driscoll announced that town programs and offices have been closed for the day.

"The Library, Senior Center and Administration Building offices are closed," Driscoll announced in an email. "Any planned recreation or school activities will not be held."
Trash and recycling will not be picked up Friday.
In addition, the governor shut down the entire MBTA system, not just those routes going through Watertown.
