There's a New Ice Cream Shop (Almost) in Town!

It has been a while since I have been able to post a blog for the Patch. There has been a lot going on in my little piece of this world! I am in my last month of grad school, preparing for the entire family to come visit, and just last week, I am happy to announce, the bf and I got engaged!

So, with all of that going on, the grand opening of a new neighborhood ice cream shop was definitely welcome!

Just over the Watertown/Belmont border, Moozy's Ice Cream & Yogurt Emporium opened its doors this past Saturday. With a bright, retro decor and helpful, smiling staff, Moozy's is just what the neighborhood ordered.

With Rancatore's on Belmont Street closed, and Brigham's shutting its doors, it is nice to see that family traditions of afternoon walks to the soda fountain can still continue!

I wrote a review of Moozy's here, but won't go into that now. What I want to know from you is: Have you tried Moozy's yet? What do you think?

Moozy's is great! Originally I was sad to see Brigham's go but the new place has a lot to offer. I found myself getting frozen yogurt from Berryline in Harvard square but Moozy's has the same machines and similar toppings. The ice cream is good too.

Mike - Berryline is one of my all time favorites. There frozen yogurt is so good, and actually contains the live cultures like yogurt should! I still haven't tried Moozy's froyo, but I will soon!

Berryline was also my favorite. It's nice to have something a lot closer. I think Moozy's differs slightly but they have an espresso flavor that's awesome. They're original differs from berryline slightly. Dare I say it's more smooth and less tart? Let me know what you think.

I just drove by there the other day and saw that Brigham's was no longer there. When I saw the name 'Moozy's' I figured it was probably a new ice cream shop. I guess I was right! Thanks for writing about it. It sounds like a good place.
