Watertown Citizens for Peace, Justice and the Environment invites the public to come on Thursday, February 21 from 6:45 pm to 9:00 pm for an extraordinary film "Knowledge is the Beginning" is a very special film featuring young Arab and Israeli musicians of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra with renowned conductor Daniel Barenboim.

The film and discussion will take place at the Watertown Free Public Library at 123 Main Street, Watertown.

Daniel Barenboim established the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra with the late Palestinian scholar Edward Said in order to bring together young musicians from across the political divide in the Middle East, noting that "Knowledge is just the beginning" of the tolerance and understanding they wanted to foster through music.

The orchestra is a unique grouping of Israeli, Arab and Palestinian musicians, aged 13 to 26. The film portrays musical workshops, candid discussions among the young musicians and conversations between Said and Barenboim.
