Billboard Campaign Promotes Perkins Library

Clear Channel Outdoor has donated billboard space throughout Greater Boston to promote The Perkins Library located on the campus of Perkins School for the Blind in Watertown. The Library offers free access to books, magazines and newspapers for Massachusetts residents who are unable to read traditional print because of a visual or physical disability. Clear Channel Outdoor will provide billboard messages in more than 50 locations to raise awareness of this service so that more people can have access to reading materials for work, study and pleasure.

The Perkins Library, funded in part by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts through the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners, offers the new digital talking book player and a variety of services for children and adults in English, Spanish and other languages.  The Library has a variety of new titles and old favorites in audio format, as well as downloads.

The goal of this public service campaign is to raise awareness so that more people can connect to these free services.  “Clear Channel Outdoor has been, and continues to be, a wonderful partner and friend to Perkins,” said Steven Rothstein, President of Perkins.  “Their support has enabled us to reach the public in a way that would otherwise be out of our reach as a non-profit.  Thanks to their generosity, tens of thousands of individuals now know about free services that could keep them, or members of their family, engaged in their community, workplaces and schools.  For that, we are immensely grateful to Clear Channel.”
