Kids Turn E-Waste into Art at the Watertown Arsenal Center for the Arts.

What kid doesn’t love using a computer…. but have they ever seen what’s inside?  Shiny metal hard drive platters, copper wrapped stators and plastic gears are just a few of the multitude of intriguing parts that make them work.

Kids have been having a blast using “take apart” to make art at WACA with Melissa Glick in Art Adventures, a 6 week class for kids in grades K&1 that meets weekly on Wednesdays from 4 -5:30 PM.

Computer parts are a jumping off point for a variety of projects fueled by imagination, creativity and love for exploration! Kids draw, collage, work with clay and build kinetic sculpture that incorporate the wide variety of sizes, colors and materials of these beautiful, abstract shapes. All parts have been cleaned and filtered for safety.
