Saint Jude School's Annual Food Drive

Saint Jude School Donates Food
Saint Jude School made a special delivery to the Sacred Heart Food Pantry in Waltham this week. The school's Celebrate Service Club, with the help of faculty coordinator and parent Mrs. Doreen Gulledge, collected lots of staples for their annual Food Drive. Each class, from Kindergarten through Grade 8, was assigned a food, from pasta and sauce, to cereal and Jell-O. For the past two weeks, students brought the food school and the Service Club organized and packaged everything up.
"We have been doing the food drive for many, many years. For as long as I can remember," said Sister Katherine Martin, principal of Saint Jude School.
Along with the delivery to the Sacred Heart Food Pantry, the Service Club also filled 75 bags with fresh fruit for the diners at the Bristol Lodge Soup Kitchen. "The children made the bags so folks who will eat their Thanksgiving dinner at Bristol Lodge will have something to take away from the table with them," Sister Katherine explained.
