Boston Bombing Suspects Hailed as Heroes by Al Qaeda Magazine, Others

The Tsarnaev brothers – prime the suspects in the Boston Marathon Bombings – are viewed as terrorists in the United States, but in other parts of the world they have been hailed as martyred heroes, according to a report in the Boston Globe.

The brothers are featured in a lengthy article in the latest issue of Al Qaeda’s magazine – Inspire – which includes an illustration of what appears to be Tamerlan Tsarnaev in heaven. Tamerlan was killed during the firefight with Watertown Police on April 19, while his brother Dzhohkar was captured and was arraigned in Boston Federal District Court last week.

The Globe also found a Facebook group from Chechnya that calls Dzhokhar a freedom fighter.
