Historical Society Celebrates Two Important Firsts for the State, Nation

See photos from the reenactment put on by the Historical Society of Watertown.

Watertown celebrated the anniversary of two historic firsts last week at the Edmund Fowled House.

The house was the site of the first reading of the Declaration of Independence in Massachusetts and also the first treaty signed with a foreign nation by the United States.

Each year the Historical Society of Watertown holds a reenactment of these events. This year's events were held on Thursday, July 18.
