Residents who patiently waited at the corner of Broadway and Churchill streets Monday afternoon hoping to see John Travolta were rewarded when he drove by and waved to the small crowd.
The Hollywood star is in Newton shooting he film "The Forger." He film has been shooting around the Boston area.
About a dozen trucks and vans parked on Broadway, just off Watertown Street.
Newtonville residents Ray and Diana Lawrence heard about the shoot and came down to look.
"We met him in Boston years ago when he was doing 'A Civil Action,'" Ray said. "He was such a nice man."
Diana was surprised they chose her neighborhood.
"I can't imagine, right here on Broadway," she said.
Residents heard Travolta was filming Monday and co-star Christopher Plummer would be around Tuesday.
The filming location is a house on Churchill Street between Crafts and Broadway Streets.
