Patch Picks: Playful Parks

Check out some of these green areas in Watertown and Waltham where you can relax and play.

: This space is located across from Watertown Middle School at 31 Westminster Ave. Kiddies and teens are covered, with playgrounds and a jungle gym for the little ones, basketball and soccer spaces for others.

: Located next to the Watertown Town Hall at 149 Main St., you’ll find courts and fields for all of your sporting needs. You just might catch a summer concert on their accompanying stage.

: You’re welcome to walk leashed dogs at 90 Hall St. in Waltham. There are playgrounds and basketball courts to keep the kids busy, too.

: Come cool off in the summer at 190 Grove St. in Waltham. You can get sprinkled with the field’s watering systems. If you stay after dark, there are lit walking paths, as well.

: You can also take a splash in the summer at 25 Intervale Road in Waltham. Spouts and water toys are available. This small park also has one basketball court and a baseball field.

: If you’re looking to play some street hockey, check out the outdoor rink at 341 Mt. Auburn St. in Watertown. You’ll also find various other athletic and play areas on O’Connell’s 4.7 acres.
