Watertown Man Wins $1 million Jackpot
David Alpert won the jackpot in the $1,000,000 Lucky Numbers game from the Massachusetts State Lottery.
Watertown has a new millionaire, well not quite after taxes.
David Alpert won the grand prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s $1,000,000 Lucky Numbers game, the Massachusetts State Lottery announced on July 30. He is just the third winner in the game that started in April 2013, according to masslottery.com.
A copy writer and musician, Alpert bought the $5 ticket at 7-Eleven at 650 Mt. Auburn St. in Watertown, and decided to take the lump sum payout of $650,000 less taxes.

He told Mass. Lottery that he plans to pay off some debts an perhaps buy a new guitar.
For selling the winning ticket, 7-Eleven will receive $10,000.

Alpert wasn’t the only lottery winner from Watertown in July. Delia Mannis won the Mass Cash $100,000 jackpot on July 10, after buying a ticket at Bus Stop Variety.
