Watertown to 'Reflect' on 50th Anniversary of King's 'I Have A Dream' Speech

The recreation takes place at Watertown Landing on Wed., Aug. 28 at 7 p.m.

A public reading of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s, “I Have a Dream” speech will take place Wednesday, Aug. 28 at 7 p.m. at the Watertown Landing – the location of the Town Dock – on the Charles River in the heart of Watertown Square.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington for Jobs & Freedom where King gave his speech on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial facing the reflecting pool.

At the Watertown event, the Charles River will serve as this celebration's own "reflecting pool.”
