Watertown Youngsters Complete Sheriff's Youth Academy

A group of children from Watertown recently finished their week as cadets at the Middlesex Sheriff's program.

Middlesex Sheriff Peter Koutoujian congratulated the Watertown children who were among the 200 graduates of the Sheriff’s Youth Public Service Academy.

The academy includes students age 9 to 11 and this class included children from Watertown, Newton, Waltham and Cambridge.

“The Academy is a great opportunity for children from across Middlesex County to learn important safety tips, get to know their local public safety officials and have an enjoyable time while doing it,” said Sheriff Koutoujian. “It also provides us with a chance to introduce children, their parents and guardians to the hardworking men and women of the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office.”The ceremony was held at the sheriff’s office Training Academy in Billerica.
