Watertown's Overnight Parking Ban Will be Lifted During the Holidays

Watertown Police Chief Edward Deveau has a present for those who park their cars on the street - a temporary reprieve from the winter parking ban.

Beginning Dec. 22 the all night parking ban will not be enforced by Watertown Police, unless there is a snowfall requiring plowing or sanding.

"With the Holidays fast approaching, the Watertown Police Department recognizes the need for additional overnight parking to accommodate visiting family members and friends," Deveau wrote in an announcement.

The overnight parking ban will begin again on Jan. 2.

"Please remember to remove your vehicle from the public way Wednesday night January 1, 2014 so that you will not receive a ticket Thursday morning January 2, 2014. Have a safe and happy holiday season," Deveau wrote.
