Eliza Dushku Looking to Fans to Help Fund Her Movie About her Homeland

The Watertown native has raised more than one-third of the $60,000 she seeks to make her movie about her family's homeland, Albania.

Actress Eliza Dushku is looking for a little help from her friends to help her make a movie about Albania, her family's homeland.

The Watertown High School graduate has raised more than $20,000 of her target of $60,000 goal on the website Kickstarter.com.

The movie, called "Albania" documents her travels in the nation that sits on the Adriatic Sea between Greece and Montenegro.

Recently, Dushku toured Albania with her brother Nate, boyfriend and former NBA player Rick Fox, and others, according to her page on Kickstarter.com. She went from the capital, Tirana, to the Albanian Riviera to the Albanian Alps and learned about the country that is just recently emerging from Communist rule.

"I got to know the people, politics and economics of a young democracy in an ancient land, as I uncovered the Albania of today," Dushku wrote on her Kickstarter page.

She also got to meet some of the country's most important political leaders, including the prime minister, president and mayor of Tirana.

Those who donate will receive rewards, depending on the amount given, including screenings and a credit on the film.
