Local musicians will put on a show on Friday night during the second annual Watertown MusicFest.
The Friends of Watertown Music have sponsored the event, and will raise money to support the music program in the Watertown Public Schools.
The event is much more than just a concert, however. The event features over 50 performances, from solos to ensembles, on four stages. There will be classical, jazz, folk, rock, and Broadway music to choose from, according to the Friends of Watertown Music.
During the first hour, budding musicians can take a close look at musical instruments during the "petting zoo."
Pizza and baked goods will be available.
The MusicFest runs from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, March 1 at Watertown Middle School.
Donations will be taken at the door - $8 per person or $25 per family is suggested by the Friends of Watertown Music.
This year, the Friends made a grant of $6800 to fund Middle School Jazz Band. For information about Friends of Watertown Music, go to http://watertownmusic.org/
