Watertown Student Musician Performs at Symphony Hall

The Watertown violinist will perform several times with the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra in the 2013-14 season.

A Watertown violinist performed with the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras at Symphony Hall. 

Sophomore violinist Joe MacDonald of Watertown played in the Junior Repertory Orchestra this month.

The concert featured the Boston Youth Symphony, BYSO’s most advanced orchestra conducted by Music Director, Federico Cortese, performed Brahms’ Symphony No. 3 and Stravinsky’s Symphony in Three Movement. 

The concert also featured a performance from musicians in BYSO’s Repertory Orchestra (REP) and Junior Repertory Orchestra (JRO).

These young musicians auditioned for BYSO in May of 2013. Of the 830 applicants, 496 were chosen to become members of BYSO.
