Skin Cancer Awareness Event at the Watertown Mall

The Watertown Health Department will give tips for enjoying the sun safely at the May 4 event.

Learn how to protect your skin from the summer sun at a presentation by the Watertown Health Department at the on May 4.

The Skin Cancer Awareness event will provide tips and advice so you can enjoy the outdoors without putting your skin, or your childrens' skin, at risk for sunburn, UV exposure and other factors that can lead to skin cancer.

Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States, one in five
Americans will develop skin cancer in their lifetime, according to a release from the Watertown Health Department.

The event will be held in the at 10 a.m. In addition, from 11 a.m. to noon, free blood pressure screenings will be available.

The lecture is part of the Watertown Mall's Health Lecture Series. The lecture takes place at 10 a.m. on the the first Friday of each month.
