Tell us which place makes the best sandwich in town.

Call it a sub or a hoagie, have it open-faced or in a wrap, there are all kinds of sandwiches and in Watertown there are plenty of places that make a tasty one.

In this inaugural Best of Patch contest we ask: where can you get the best  sandwich in Watertown?

While there are dozens of places to choose from, we narrowed it to five for the poll:

Voting for the Best Sandwich in Watertown runs until 9 a.m. on Friday, March 2. We will base the winner on votes, as well as the comments. In the event of a tie, the sandwich shop with the most positive comments will get the prize.

If your favorite did not make the list, tell us which one it is and why you love it. Add it in the comment section below.

How could you leave out Gerry's Italian? chix pesto wrap is both healthy and really delicious. Also you can't go wrong with their Italian sub

Maximos isa great spot. You can take out but it is also a very nice place to sit and eat your meal next to the big windows. I must say that I never have gone into a restaurant where the reason I have a hard time picking what to order is because I like everything I see, but that is the case at Maximos.

I have a problem...I am addicted to the buffalo chicken sandwich...I order it once a week. It's just too good. I've never had an addition before, but it has taken over my life. Does anyone have any advice on how to ween yourself off of blue cheese and hot sauce?

The sandwiches at Maximo's are delicious. I ate in and I enjoyed the food as well as the view - I'm a people watcher. Everything I saw looked wonderful and fresh and the smell alone could lure you in off the street. Cathi Pivnicny

I agree, it doesn't get much better than Russo's!

I'll have to try it, there's something about the buffalo sauce and bleu cheese combination that's extremely addicting
Sonny Beaches February 29, 2012 at 05:47 PM
Right on Mike, Russo's for quality, consistency, variety and price !
