The Dunkin’ Donuts at 448 Main St. has a new look, including patio seating and more comfortable seating inside.
The location underwent a major overhaul recently in an effort to make better use of the property, said David Carvalho, the franchise owner.
“We’ve only received positive comments, which I have been very happy about,” Carvalho said. “I take a lot of pride in how it turned out.”
The store had room for a drive through window, but the location never got approval to operate it. During the remodeling more of the property was utilized.
“It allowed us to expand seating and get a better flow inside,” Carvalho said. “With the addition landscaping and adding the patio I think we added to the lot and to the area.”
Customers now have a choice of seating.
“Before, we had tables and chairs on the right, now we have three different types of seating,” Carvalho said. “To right have booth seating, and to the left we have higher bar stool type seats along the window, and then also have these higher bar stool type tables.”
Wifi is also available and plugs have been installed near most of the seats.
Carvalho is also CFO for Riverside Management Group which owns 25 Dunkin’ Donuts locations including the five in Watertown. The two locations on Mt. Auburn Street have also been upgraded in recent years, but the “wow factor” was not as big because landscaping and the site could not be changed due to the configuration.
Carvalho hopes the new look will bring people to the Dunkin’ Donuts throughout the day.
“I don’t know if people will necessarily visit more, but definitely more throughout the day. Whether they come for an afternoon coffee break, or maybe someone who wants have coffee outside on nice day - they can do that now,” Carvalho said.
