Joe Kennedy III Married in a Suit Made in Watertown

Eastern Clothing outfitted the newly-elected congressman for his big day.

When Congressman-elect Joe Kennedy III tied the knot last month, he donned a suit made in Watertown.

Kennedy married Lauren Birschfield on Dec. 3 in Corona del Mar, Calif., just a month after being elected to his first term as congressman for the 4th Congressional District. He walked down the aisle in a medium grey suit made at Eastern Clothing of Watertown, said co-owner John Airasian.

“We dressed Joe, and there were seven groomsmen in the party,” Airasian said. “They all wore suits and they all got them here.”

This was not the first time that Kennedy has shopped at Eastern Clothing.

“He has been coming here since he was a youngster at Buckingham, Browne & Nichols,” Airasian said. “His father Joe has been a friend since he was a congressman.”

Airasian served as chairman fof the Watertown Arsenal Corporation when Joe Kennedy II represented Watertown in Congress.

“(The clean up of the Arsenal) was one of the biggest thing in his district,” Airasian said. “He was very helpful getting us the Federal money to clean the site up.”

Kennedy III’s district does not include Watertown, which is in the 5th Congressional District.
