Stop & Shop Customers May Get a Special Discount When They Check Out on Sunday

Stop & Shop sent out the following announcement:

On Sunday, on-site Brands Patrol members will hand out $5 gift cards to customers at the Stop & Shop store at 700 Pleasant St. in Watertown, for every Stop & Shop Own Brands item they have in their cart.

The Stop & Shop Supermarket Company LLC announced this week that it is introducing a promotional program to reward customers with even greater savings at the checkout.

Members of Stop & Shop Brands Patrol will be visiting stores across Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, New York, and New Jersey and randomly selecting customers to give them more savings at checkout. The program will run each weekend, starting Aug. 19 and ending Oct. 9. Up to $40,000 will be awarded to customers through the promotional period.

The Stop & Shop Brands Patrol is on the look-out for customers as they approach the checkout. For every Stop & Shop Own Brands item the patrol finds in a selected customers’ grocery cart, he or she will receive a $5 gift card. The prize is capped at $50 per customer. Stop & Shop’s Own Brands items include:
