The Watertown Boys and Girls Club is looking to hire an assistant Aquatics Director

POSITION:       Assistant Aquatics Director

 

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Assistant Aquatics Director is responsible to assist in all aspects of the Aquatics Department including programming, supervision, safety and proper operation of the swimming pool.

REPORTS TO: Aquatics Director

SUPERVISES: Lifeguards, Swim Instructors     

POSITION STATUS: Full-Time Exempt

 

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED:           

  • A four-year degree from an accredited college or university.

  • At least one year supervisory experience, with prior lifeguard experience

  • Previous coaching experience

  • Background in swimming

  • CPO certified or the ability to become certified within 90 days.

  • First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer and Lifeguard certified.

     

    KEY ROLES (Essential Responsibilities):

     

  • Operations

    • Assists in opening and closing the aquatics facility for operational hours and arranges for coverage as necessary.

    • Monitors facility for maintenance issues, maintains safety of all equipment and minimizes or eliminates potential risks and liabilities.

    • Enforces policies and procedures to maintain the safety of the members.

    • Responsible for the maintenance of the chemicals and physical condition of the pool water.

  • Monitors temperature and ventilation in the pool.

  • Maintains all logs relative to pool maintenance and legal compliance.

  • Works with staff to monitor locker rooms and maintain a clean environment.

    Program Facilitation

  • Work with Aquatics Director to plan, supervise and execute a diversified aquatics program including Swim Team, swim lessons, adult lap, rentals etc.

  • Teaches classes and assumes lifeguard role as assigned.

  • Helps to oversee all aquatic activities and insures that all programs operate effectively and efficiently.

  • Assists Aquatic Director and program staff to set comprehensive seasonal program schedule, ensuring offerings are diversified and functional.

  • Maintain proper files and records on all programs and participants.

  • Monitors program attendance records to determine staffing needs and to maximize enrollment.

  • Assists in coordinating special events such as they relate to the aquatics programs.

    Marketing

  • Ensures all bulletin boards/social media outlets are up to date.
