More Information on Recently Passed Pleasant St Corridor Project

Wednesday night the Planning Board approved a mixed-use project at 60 Howard Street /45 Bacon Street, which is part of the Pleasant St Corridor.  The Patch ran a story on Thursday that highlights many of the project’s general details and residential concerns, linked here:

I am starting this blog to publicizing information about news happening within the district, and as such I wanted to give folks the opportunity to view the plans that were approved.  The following link will bring you to the Town’s Document Center online where you can view the architecture, the traffic study, and various other reports pertaining to the plans.  Please note, the documents are quite large and may take a minute or two to download.

If you would like to be notified whenever projects of this nature will be considered by the Planning Board, I encourage you to sign up for the Town’s “Notify Me” system which will automatically email you with notice.  You can sign up for this, or for notification from any other department, here:

For the majority of the developments that have gone to the Planning Board in this area over the past two years, I have traditionally received the help of several residents to organize meetings to discuss the plans and make sure there is community input in the projects before approval or rejection.  As was done in for this project, notification of such meetings has traditionally been hand delivered to abutting residents in the district, advertised on Facebook and Twitter, and posted by the Town Clerk, and moving forward will also be added to this blog.

Over-development and traffic are primary concerns in the area so I strongly encourage folks to continue being active in these meetings and continue to promote economic development that will complement the neighborhood as well.
