Waltham St Maintenance Updates

During the past election, the condition of Waltham Street was brought up as a concern and as such I wanted to let folks know about the planned renovations for this street.

Before a complete re-paving of the street can take place there are several updates to the infrastructure, intersections, and sidewalks that need to be done first.  We do not want to duplicate efforts by paving the road now and then having the re-pave it again after these projects come through over the coming months.

As many who were active in meetings about the Waltham St Apartments know, there is sidewalk that is going to be installed along Waltham St to the Waltham town line.  The intersection of Bridge St and Waltham St is going to be getting renovated to improve its safety and overall condition.  Also, a new gas line is being looked at along Waltham St, from Bridge St to the Waltham town line, as well as Rosedale St to Bridge St.

Funding sources for re-paving are currently being looked at, so soon following these projects the street itself will be the focus.  The complete renovation of this street remains a top priority for me, and we are actively working towards that goal.  In the meantime potholes will continue to be filled.  For this or any other concern, please feel free to reach me at any time through my website at kennethwoodland.com or email me at kwoodland@watertown-ma.gov.
