UPDATED: Multiple MBTA Problems Snarl Morning Commute

As of 10:55 a.m., all Green Line service has resumed normal operations, according to T Alerts. Arlington Station has also reopened.

This morning has not been one of the easiest commutes for those using the MBTA.

All Downtown Green Line service is currently suspended as MBTA crews deal with an electrical problem, according to T Alerts. 

C and D Line trains will terminate at Kenmore and shuttle bus service will operate between Kenmore and the downtown area. The B Line will terminate at Blanford Street, with shuttle bus operating between Blanford and Government Center.

The entire E Line is suspended and customers can use the 39 bus for service.

According to the Boston Fire Department, the trouble started around 8 a.m. when smoke from an electrical line forced officials to power down and evacuate Arlington and Copley stations. 

By 10 a.m., the MBTA was able to isloate the problem cable. 

Aside from the Green Line trouble, Newton commuters using the Framingham/Worcester commuter rail line have had to wait a big longer in the single-digit temperatures this morning. Several trains experienced delays between 20-45 minutes, including the P505 (7 a.m.), P506 (6:35 a.m.) and the P510 (7:55 a.m.), according to T alerts.

As of 9:35 a.m., the P509 (9:05 a.m.) outbound train was also experiencing 10- to 15-minute delays.
