Five Things You Need to Know Today: Jan. 30

Rec Department's musical, School Committee starts the budget process and screwball comedy night at the library.

 

  1. The Watertown Recreation Department is pleased to announce a new drama/music program, . During the 11-week program, running today at 2:35 p.m. at Lowell School, children K-5 will choose music and scenes from popular musicals, then rehearse and perform them in a show for their friends and families. 
  2. The School Committee's Budget and Finance Subcommitteee meets tonight to start the Fiscal 2013 budget process. The meeting is at 7 p.m. in the First Floor Conference Room at the Phillips School.
  3. January is "screwball comedy month" at the Watertown Free Public Library. starring William Powell and Carole Lombard. The showing begins at 6:30 p.m.
  4. today at 9:30 a.m. today. Come work on your own projects and receive feedback from instructor, artist Dawn Scaltreto.
  5. The Watertown Family Network offers a weekly playgroup for children ages 3 months to 1 year old. Kids can come play and sing with Bee.
