Five Things You Need to Know Today: July 12

Town Council meeting, School Budget Subcommittee meets and singing and dancing at the Library.

  1. The Town Council meet tonight at 7:15 p.m. The council will hear a report from State Rep. Jonathan Hecht and hear a report on the trash contract. The meeting will be held in the Council Chamber in Town Hall. Earlier in the day,  at 4 p.m., the council's Economic Development and Planning Subcommittee will discuss placing cell phone towers on public property.
  2. got discuss the fiscal 2012 budget, including school busing and facility rentals. The meeting at 7 p.m. is in the first floor meeting room at the Phillips School.
  3. Seniors can have their today from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Watertown Senior Center. The SHINE (Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders) program is a free program funded by the Massachusetts Executive Office of Elder Affairs.
  4. Children ages 5 and under can come to the Watertown Free Library to Ed plays classic children's songs on his acoustic guitar. The fun begins at 11 a.m.
  5. in an Intercity League baseball match up today at 6 p.m. The game will be played at Bentley University.
