Flu Shots Running Out, but Some Still Available in Watertown

Some pharmacies have run out of the flu vaccine but those still in need can find them in town.

Flu shots have been hard to come by in the wake of the heavy flu season that has hit the Boston area, but there are some places in Watertown to get the vaccine.

The two CVS Pharmacies in town report that they have run out of the vaccine, but the pharmacy at Target, in the Watertown Mall, still has some available. Residents can drop in and request it as long as it lasts. CVS will likely get more vaccine, so check back later this week.

The Watertown Health Department still has some, too, and members of the staff will put on a flu clinic on Friday, Jan. 18. The free clinic will be held at the Watertown Free Public Library from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

As long as the vaccine remains, the Health Department will also take walk in appointments on Friday afternoons in Town Hall, said Watertown Public Health Nurse Wil Van Dinter.
