Get Out: Comedy, Three Plays, and a Memorial Day Parade

It's Thursday, and you're looking for something do this weekend. Patch has the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check out our picks for activities to do and new places to explore in and around town.

  • Where/When: Arsenal Center for the Arts, 321 Arsenal St., Watertown, Friday, 8 p.m.
  • Why Go: Children and adults will enjoy the comedy troupe Improv Jones Jr. Plus, you can participate in the show, so come start your weekend off with some laughs.
  • Pricing: $10

  • Where/When: Hovey Players, 9 Spring St., Waltham, Friday and Saturday, 8 p.m.
  • Why Go: Hovey Players finishes its 75th season with the final two performances of “Private Lives,” the classic comedy by Noel Coward. 
  • Pricing: $16, $14 for seniors and students

  • Where/When: Arsenal Center for the Arts, 321 Arsenal St., Watertown, ;
  • Why Go: Zero Point Theater presents “The Mousetrap,” a murder mystery by Agatha Christie. After the matinee performances, guests are invited to stay for a buffet dinner with the cast. 
  • Pricing: $25 or $45 with dinner

  • Where/When: Turtle Lane Playhouse, 283 Melrose St., Auburndale, and
  • Why Go: Come to the Turtle Lane Playhouse to see this musical comedy about a pampered Broadway starlet who wants to give up show business to get married. This show has won a Tony Award for Best Book and Best Score. 
  • Pricing: $27.50 and $22.50 for seniors and students

  • Where/When: Tufts Healthcare, 705 Mt. Auburn St., Watertown, Monday, 12 p.m.-2 p.m.
  • Why Go: This event honors Veterans' organizations participating in the parade. The route begins in the Tufts Healthcare parking lot and travels down Grove and Arlington Streets.
  • Pricing: Free
