LETTER: Whooley Foundation Thanks Those Who Helped Over the Holidays

The program gives gifts to less fortunate children in Watertown in honor of former Watertown Police officer Sonny Whooley.

Dear Contributors,

The Whooley Foundation is a non-profit organization that was founded in the memory of John “Sonny” Whooley a Watertown Police Officer, resident, father and husband. He loved our community and served it for over 30 years as a Watertown Police Sergeant. He had a special place in his heart for those less fortunate than himself. He always strived to make children a little happier during the holiday season.

This year, in addition to over two hundred children from Watertown helped by the Whooley Foundation, we were also able to give assistance to the Watertown Food Pantry and an inner city Catholic learning center, to our list of recipients.
The Whooley Foundation Board of Directors is happy to continue this legacy, however it was made possible by the overwhelming generosity and support of the following organizations and individuals:

Watertown Police Chief Edward Deveau, Watertown Police Association, Watertown Police Supervisors Association Watertown Fire Chief Mario Orangio, Watertown Fire Union, Marine Corps League Shutt Detachment, Watertown Savings Bank Employees, Strip T’s Restaurant, Victors Diner, Masonic Temple, Ancient Order of Hibernians, Watertown Charitable Council, G.M. Walsh Plumbing & Heating, The Walsh Family, The St. James Armenian Church and many anonymous residents in our community.
