Cambridge-based Mount Auburn Hospital is planning to open a new health care facility in Waltham, in 2012.
The 28,000 square foot medical center will be on the site of the former Yolanda’s Bridal Salon on Waverly Oaks Road. It will house a bariatric medicine and surgical center as well as OB/GYN, radiology and laboratory services according to the press release from the hospital. It will also have a primary care practice.
Construction on the site will start sometime this year and be finished sometime next year, according to the hospital. The facility will be called Mount Auburn Health Care at Waltham.
“We are pleased and excited to bring top quality medical services to the Waltham area,” Mount Auburn Hospital CEO Jeanette Clough said in a statement. “This new center will allow us to increase the availability of primary care physicians in the community and allow for the growth of some of our key practices, including our bariatric and OB/GYN services.”
