POLL: Does This Warm Winter Have You Worried About Global Warming?

Recent report says January 2012 was fourth warmest on record.

 

Snow lovers can't be very happy this winter.

Take a look outside your window and there's no sign of snow anywhere. Watertown's total this winter is less than 10 inches. Compare that to last year, when Logan Airport had more than 60 inches of snow by Jan. 28.

So why the drastic change?

A report from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) reports January 2012 was the fourth-warmest January on record for the contiguous United States.

How warm you ask?

The average temperature last month was 36.3 degrees, which is 5.5 above normal range. This makes the month not only the fourth warmest of its kind in history, but also the warmest since 2006.
