Watertown Church Offers Gathering Saturday in Wake of CT School Shooting

Gathering will be Sunday, Dec. 15, at 10 a.m.

The following information is from the Rev. Amy McCreath, Church of the Good Shepherd, Watertown:

Most of you will have heard by now about the horrific shooting that took place today at the elementary school in Sandy Hook, Conn. I know that you are already praying for the parents and loved ones of those who were killed, for the shooter who somehow came to take such action, and for the whole community of Sandy Hook. Our hearts are deeply grieved and we are at a loss for words as we try to understand how such violence can happen and what it means to live in a world where such things can happen.

Tomorrow morning (Saturday, Dec. 15) at 10 a.m., I welcome you to gather with me at the Church of the Good Shepherd for a time to lament, to find solace in scripture and God's promises, and to share prayers for individual and communal healing. Please share this invitation with others who might want to join us. (The heating system at the church is under repair, so wear a warm sweater.)
