See the Winners in the Watertown Town Election

Voters chose their favorites for Council President, Town Councilor-at-large and School Committee.

Mark Sideris won the race for Town Council President, but not all incumbents had as much success Tuesday night.

Sideris won with 3,010 votes over challenger and former president Clyde Younger, who got 1,439 tallies. Sideris won another two-year term.

The top four candidates for Town Councilor-at-large won election to the board. Challenger Aaron Dushku led with 2,363 votes, followed by incumbents Anthony Palmoba with 2,209, Susan Falkoff with 2,198 and Steve Corbett with 1,938. They were followed by incumbent John Donohue with 1,898, and challengers  Paul Fahey with 1,713 and Michael Dattoli with 1,685. Colin Wehrung who did not actively campaign got 324 votes. This is a two-year seat.

In the race for School Committee the top three took seats on the committee. John Portz won re-election with 2,281 votes, followed by newcomers Guido Guidotti (1,685) and Elizabeth Yusem (1,624). They were followed by challengers Andrew Swan (1,367), David Stokes (1,273) and Dmitry Lev (1,107). The winners will serve four years.

Voter turnout was 21.26 percent, with 4,780 voters casting ballots.

The following candidates won uncontested races: District A Councilor Angeline Kounelis, District B Councilor Cecilia Lenk, District C Councilor Vincent Piccirilli, District D Councilor Kenneth Woodland and Library Trustees Raya Stern, Gracemarie LeBlanc and Carol Tierney.
