Attention: Watertown Parents Needed for MGH Educational Video (Compensation Provided)

In
preparation for the one-year anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombing in
April 2014, physicians on Mass General Hospital's child psychology and
psychiatry team are engaging with local parents to understand the impact of
last year's events on them and their children. The end result will be a series
of educational materials (including a printed Fact Sheet and brochure, as well
as web-based articles, podcasts, and an original video) that will serve as
ready resources for other parents as they speak to their children about the anniversary,
or face future challenges.

For the 5-8
minute web-based video in particular, the team is looking to feature
approximately three families with children between the ages of 6-18 years, who
are residents of Watertown or another community affected by the bombing and/or
lockdown
. The video will touch upon these local parents’ personal
experiences/learnings in parenting during the events of last year. With each
family having just a brief on-camera appearance, this is more an opportunity
for you to share anecdotes and advice that will assist parents as they prepare
for the upcoming anniversary, or encounter a similar challenge
.

If
you wish to participate, please contact Liz Jarrell at ejarrell@partners.org or 617-643-1590.
Next steps involve a brief phone screen the week of 3/3, with the in-person
shoot anticipated for Saturday, 3/8 at a studio in Cambridge. Following the
shoot, we will schedule time to come by each family's home for a few hours to
take still photos (we're happy to accommodate your schedule). You will be
compensated for your time/participation
.
