The Boston Collaborative for Food and Fitness is a non-profit coalition that coordinates the administration and promotion of the Boston Farmers Market program (www.bostonfarmersmarkets.org) BCFF works with 27 regular seasonal and winter markets throughout the city of Boston to promote healthy, local and accessible food to all communities. The Boston Bounty Bucks program helps to make healthy food more affordable by providing a dollar-for-dollar match, up to $10, each time a SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) client shops at a participating farmers market. SNAP, also known as food stamps, provides financial assistance to enable low-income Americans to purchase food. Participation in the Bounty Bucks program has increased dramatically over the past 5 years and BCFF continues to develop new initiatives to improve participation by increasing awareness and eliminating barriers to participation.
