Brown Bag Lunch Series: Next Stop, Breeding Grounds

Mount Auburn Cemetery provides critical habitat for neotropical songbirds during spring migration, but where are these birds headed? In this talk by ecologist and wildlife photographer Brooks Mathewson we will look at the breeding habitat preferences of these dozens of species of songbirds. This insight provides us with a more complete understanding of these beautiful avian visitors, and improves our ability to locate individual species within specific microhabitats at Mount Auburn during migration.

This program is part of our Brown Bag Lunch Series: An Urban Wildlife Oasis. With its lushly-planted 175 acres, Mount Auburn provides the perfect habitat for many species of urban wildlife. Join us for this free series of lunch-time talks to learn about the year-round and seasonal wildlife species you can find in the Cemetery and what we are doing to protect this important habitat and encourage biodiversity. All talks will take place in Story Chapel. Bring your lunch for these hour-long presentations; coffee and tea will be provided.
