Cambridge Historical Tours Honors Veterans with Fallen Heroes Tour

This Memorial Day, join Cambridge Historical Tours in celebrating the Americans who fought for our freedom across the centuries.  For one day only, CHT will offer a tour written specifically to commemorate veterans and their families, walking through roughly 10 stops including the Cambridge Common, Memorial Church, Harvard Yard, and the Old Burying Ground.

The tour will honor veterans from the Revolution through the World Wars. Beginning with the birth of the American Army on the Common,  the tour will revisit fallen soldiers in the Old Burying Ground, Civil War heroes, and the ‘Enemy Casualty’ named in Memorial Church. With stories ranging from the uplifting to the thought-provoking, the 90 minute tour takes you through the myriad faces of American battles.  The focus is not only on the soldiers who gave their lives, but the many adversities faced in war.

Cambridge Historical Tours is proud of the rich African American history in Cambridge, and they take advantage of the opportunity to celebrate the area’s diversity on this tour. CHT will recount the deeds of Black Masonry pioneer Prince Hall, Civil War era Massachusetts 54th Regiment, and early black colonials who gave their lives fighting in the name of freedom for all.
